Minimal detectable biases of GPS data
نویسنده
چکیده
In this contribution closed-form expressions are given for the minimal detectable biases of singleand dual-frequency pseudo-range and carrier-phase data. They are given for three dierent single-baseline models. These are the geometry-free model and two variants of the geometry-based model, namely the roving and stationary variants. The baselines are considered to be suciently short such that orbital uncertainties in the ®xed orbits and residual ionospheric and tropospheric delays can be assumed absent. The stochastic model used is one that permits cross-correlation and the use of dierent variances for individual GPS observables, including the possibility to weigh the observables in dependence on which satellite is tracked.

Minimal Detectable Biases of GPS observations for a weighted ionosphere
The theory and application of statistical quality control is well established in precise positioning, navigation and geodesy. Quality control is made up of several contributing factors, one of which is internal reliability. Internal reliability describes the ability to find biases in observational data and is represented by the Minimal Detectable Bias (MDB). The MDB provides a diagnostic tool t...
متن کاملThe regional estimates of the GPS satellite and receiver differential code biases
The Differential Code Biases (DCB), which are also termed hardware delay biases, are the frequency-dependent time delays of the satellite and receiver. Possible sources of these delays are antennas and cables, as well as different filters used in receivers and satellites. These instrumental delays affect both code and carrier measurements. These biases for satellites and some IGS stations tend ...
متن کاملSingle-Epoch GNSS Array Integrity: An Analytical Study
In this contribution we analyze the integrity of the GNSS array model through the socalled uniformly most powerful invariant (UMPI) test-statistics and their corresponding minimal detectable biases (MDBs). The model considered is characterized by multiple receivers/satellites with known coordinates where the multi-frequency carrier-phase and pseudo-range observables are subject to atmospheric (...

Measurements of the dual frequency Global Positioning System (GPS) receivers can be used to calculate the electron density and the total electron content (TEC) of the ionosphere layer of the Earth atmosphere. TEC is a key parameter for investigating the ongoing spatial and temporal physical process of the ionosphere. For accurate estimation of TEC from GPS measurements, GPS satellites and GPS r...
متن کاملQuality Control for Differential Kinematic GPS Positioning
Kinematic differential GPS positioning is used to achieve accurate, real-time positions and velocities of a moving platform on land, in the air and at sea. In a dynamic environment, however, the deviations or biases from the assumed system and observation models are often significant. This results in a degradation of the accuracy and reliability of the estimated positions and velocities. Theref...
